I think Anderson has the potential to be an absolute class player. I think he has the ability in there to be as influential as Benayoun or Berkovic.
But not quite Di Canio or Payet.
Time will tell.

Why not just compare players on the form that they are showing? Rossal, as always, is coming up with utterly ridiculous scenarios because he thinks it makes him sound like he knows something about football.
if we are comparing Antonio on top form, then he needs to be compared to Anderson also on top form, which we haven't seen yet.

A top notch Antonio against the Anderson of now. Fair point. Is harder to call.
Problem is what Antonio did for us in the past is irrelevant. Anderson will only improve once he really gets in the groove. He is probably still adjusting to the physicality and how much work he has to do!
It is a shame tho, you are right. Had Antonio developed technically he would be a hell of a player.

He was always limited but because he put so much effort in the first season or two everybody largely forgave him for his weaknesses
...because he got the odd goal now and then
Now he looks off the pace and doesn't have a goal in him...a shame really - not the first and won't be the last

Bilic was right, he is a limited player but he was an athlete and should have done what he was asked and concentrated on becoming a fullback like Young, Valencia or Delph. He is only any good running from deep and arriving late in the box. Not technically gifted enough to play in and around the penalty area when we dominate possession.

I think he's best position is as a right sided attacking midfield player. Currently this is obviously and rightly taken by Yarmolenko.
The problem is the belief in his own myth as a utility player who can play anywhere. Which he can't.

Why are people comparing Antonio on top form against a player that has yet to hit his stride? Why not compare Antonio playing as shit as Anderson? Unfair to compare players unless you are looking at them on the same level.
Me, on top form, would probably be a better bet than Antonio right now.

But a Antonio on top form.....against Anderson so far this season is tight IMO. Id certainly back Antonio to outscore Felipe
